Our Philosophy for Early Childhood Education

Our goal is to help every child be happy, secure, and develop fully to their true potential. To meet this goal we offer our families a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment dedicated to providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that allows children to develop at their own pace. Through play experiences and the guidance of staff, your child will be exposed to situations that will stimulate curiosity, initiative and independence. All of this is combined to ensure our preschoolers are prepared when they reach educational kindergarten. Preschool and child care programs are based on children’s interests and learning needs, and include the use of individual, small and large group activities, indoor and outdoor play, learning centers, outings and field trips. Activities will be varied frequently and designed to accommodate individual children’s unique abilities.

Our Programs

We run two full-day, play-based preschool type programs for children ages 3 - 5. Both programs are inclusive, multi-age rooms that implement our philosophy to aid in the development of each child's individuality.

Wait List is now open for 2024 and beyond.

Registration is online and a link will be emailed out as soon as a space is confirmed for your child.

· Victoria Day: Monday May 20th, 2024

· Canada Day: Monday July 1st, 2024

· BC Day: Monday August 5th, 2024

· Summer Cleaning: Monday August 26th - Tuesday September 3rd 2024, inclusive.  Re-open for care on Wednesday September 4th, 2024 

· Labour Day: Monday September 2nd, 2024. 

· National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: Monday September 30th, 2024

· Thanksgiving: Monday October 14th, 2024

· Remembrance Day: Monday November 11th, 2024

· Christmas Day: Wednesday December 25th, 2024

· Winter Holiday for 2024/25: Monday December 23, 2024-Tuesday December 31, 2024

· New Years Day: Wednesday January 1st 2025.  

· Will re-open for care on Thursday January 2nd, 2025. 

Little Acorn Care Centre Rates*

We offer full-time (5 days per week) childcare spaces. We are an approved CCFRI childcare program (contract approved until March 2025) and therefore childcare fees are reduced due to government funding. 

Fees must be paid on the first of every month

These items must be paid in order to enroll your child: 

A $50.00 one-time non-refundable administration fee

A $100.00 deposit for registration (will be applied to the last month of care)

All paperwork must be signed and submitted to the center. If your child’s care is going to be funded by Child Care Subsidy, all paperwork must be complete and a valid authorization number must be on file. It is the responsibility of the parent to make sure subsidy is up to date and renewal papers are completed on time otherwise full child care fees will be applied.
