About the Program
The Community Chest program provides emergency assistance with rent, bills, childcare, and health & wellness needs. Our goal is to provide financial assistance to those with urgent needs within our community, and create a supportive network in Oaklands. This program is funded by community donations. Therefore, the sum distributed varies depending on financial availability.
Eligible applicants must have expressed and shown the need for financial assistance based on documentation and additional information regarding their current situation. All applicants must work, live, or have children in school and/or childcare in Oaklands (or through OCA).
Applications are limited to one per household annually.
Please fill out and attach all of the listed documents on this APPLICATION FORM. Once both PART 1 and PART 2 of the application have been completed, the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Working Group will review your application. Financial need will be determined based on total gross income, additional income assistance/subsidies, household size & the living wage.
Please note that the reviewing process may take up to 7 days, and additional documents may be requested to verify the information provided.
