Licensed Camps

Our licensed camps provide quality childcare for children in Kindergarten to Grade 5. Oaklands provides a positive atmosphere in which children can develop self-esteem, confidence, and social awareness. Our staff offer a warm, safe, and welcoming environment so your child’s time here is fun and memorable.

Summer Camp Themes

Week 1: June 29, 30/July 2, 3 (4-day camp)

Parks & Beaches Week (Grades K-5 Camp)

Out Trips planned for this week are - Gyro Beach, Beacon Hill, Centennial Park and Gonzales Beach.


Week 2 July 6-10

Little Einsteins (Grades K-1 Camp)

Blast off into an unforgettable week in summer camp! Biology, STEM, explosive experiments and more!


Out & About (Grades 2-5 Camp)

This camp will be mostly off-site for the day. Out-trips planned for this week are Willows, Esquimalt Lagoon, Topaz Park, Beaver Lake Playground and Boardgame Cafe. 


Week 3 July 13-17

Deep in The Coastal Rainforest (Grades K-1)

We will be incorporating Indigenous aspects into our exploration of the Pacific Northwest. Spirit Bears, Salmon, Orcas, Wolves and even Sasquatch! A trip to the Imax is planned for this week.


Mega Mindstorm (Grades 2-5)

Engineering & Science Week. Experimenting with Chemistry, biology, engineering and cultivating a maker mindset. Daily riddles and "explosive" fun! 


Week 4 July 20-24

Shipwrecked! (Grades K-1 Camp)

This week's camp is full of pirates, mermaids, ocean creatures and searching for buried treasure! We will be going to the beach for an out-trip! 


Out & About (Grades 2-5 Camp)

This camp will be mostly off-site for the day. Out-trips planned for this week are : Fort Rodd Hill, Francis King Park, Swan Lake, Miniature World, Indoor Swimming


Week 5 July 27-31

Water Waves (Grades K-1 Camp)

Prepare to get wet! Sprinkler Fun, Wading Pools, Super Soakers, water parks and lake fun!


Zany Zoologists (Grades 2-5 Camp)

Get ready to go wild! Curious campers will step into the shoes of wacky wildlife scientists and explore the amazing animal kingdom like never before. From creating crazy critters to solving silly safari mysteries, campers will discover how animals live, move, and survive—all while getting a little bit goofy along the way. Each day will be packed with hands-on crafts, interactive games, and outdoor adventures designed to spark imagination and curiosity. Whether they’re designing their own zany species, building habitats, or going on a “research expedition,” kids will learn through play, creativity, and laughter. 


Week 6 Aug 4-7 (4 Day)

Spy Academy (Grades K-1 Camp)

Secret Agent Training! Memory Games, spy games, codebreaking, obstacle courses, commandos and more!


Out & About (Grades 2-5 Camp)

This camp will be mostly off-site for the day. Out-trips planned for this week are: Cook Street Village Playground, Mystic Vale, Pkols, Indoor Swimming


Week 7 Aug 10-14

Fairy Tale Forest (Grades K-1 Camp)

We will be exploring nature, mythical creatures, crafting magical potions and more! All fairies, wood nymphs, elves, and sprites welcome! Fun with Fables and Fairy Tales. Play acting, puppets, crafts, dress up and trips to Pkols and Mystic Vale. 


Mythical Realms (Grades 2-5 Camp)

Step into a world of magic, mystery, and epic adventure! Campers will become brave explorers in a land filled with dragons, enchanted forests, and legendary creatures. Each camper will embark on exciting “side quests,” solve riddles, and uncover hidden secrets as they journey through a realm where imagination reigns supreme. From mixing bubbling potions to crafting magical artifacts, campers will dive into hands-on activities inspired by ancient fables and fantastical tales. They’ll work together to conquer “dungeons,” create their own mythical creatures, and even take part in a kid-friendly, story-driven roleplaying adventure inspired

by Dungeons & Dragons. With every quest completed, campers will grow their courage, creativity, and teamwork—earning their place as true heroes of the realm.


Week 8 Aug 17-21

Animal Planet (Grades K-1 Camp)

We will be going to Beacon Hill Petting Zoo, have a visit from the Compost Education Center, mask making crafts, learning about local wildlife and more. $180/week Kindergarten $231.25/Grade 1


Out & About (Grades 2-5 Camp)

This camp will be mostly off-site for the day. Out-trips planned for this week are: Pkols, Macaulay Pt Park, Saxe Pt, Elk Lake Playground, and Cecelia Ravine 


Week 9 Aug 24-28

Storybook Adventures (Grades K-1)

Join us as we hop down the rabbit hole of adventure! Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Where The Wild Things Are, Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz and more will inspire us in arts & crafts, dress-up fun and imagination games!


Passport to Fun! (Grades 2-5 Camp)

Get ready to travel the world without leaving camp! Campers will create their very own passports and journey across exciting “countries” filled with games, crafts, and cultural discoveries. At each stop, they’ll earn unique stamps, learn something new, and collect unforgettable memories. Pack your imagination and join us for a trip full of creativity, friendship, and fun!

Registration for the 2026 Summer Camps will open for all on May 11th at 9:00am. There are 2 Inclusion Support spaces reserved for each camp.

Please note that registration for Pro-D Days is a separate registration from Out-of-School-Care. Pro-D Day packages do not include any other camps.


There will be an Oaklands Site option for Grades K/1 and 2-5, and then another option for Grades K-5 at Sundance Site.

Pro-D day packages are for families in our OSC Program only at this time and do not include ANY Early Dismissal Days or Camps. 

 

If you do not purchase a Pro-D Day package, there may still be opportunity to register for individual camps as they grow closer. This is dependent on space remaining after packages have been purchased.

 Current In-House refers to families who are currently registered in our 2025/26 OSC program or attend Little Acorns or Hamilton Park childcare program. 


Registering into Winter/Spring, Summer camps, or Pro-D Day camps does not designate as an In-House family. Children attending our feeder schools does not designate as an In-House family.

2026 Summer Camp Themes & Additional Information

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Please read the following information, as it may answer your question!

     All children that receive support in school or childcare must register in the reserved spaces for Supported Care. This is due to limited camp capacity. Thank you. 


    Our cancellation policy is as follows:  Families are required to provide notice in writing 30 days prior to the Monday of their child's week at camp. Email is an accepted form of written notice - No verbal cancellations will be accepted.


    1. If 30 days written notice of cancellation was received, the paying adult will be refunded full camp fees minus an admin fee of $25/week.


    2. If written notice is given under 30 days prior to 1st day of camp, the paying adult will receive a refund of full fees - minus an admin fee of $50/week.


    3. If written notice is under 14 days and is not accompanied by a doctor's note as reason to cancel camp there are no refunds.


    ***Failure to provide written notice of cancellation will result in fees being charged.***  


    Licensed camps are separated into Kindergarten/Grade 1 (age 5-7) and Grade 2-5 (8-11). You will register your child into the age group/grade they have completed, not the grade they are entering into.    


    Licensed camps are for children who have completed Kindergarten in June. For children starting Kindergarten in September, we are required to submit an exemption from our licensing officer; parents/guardian can continue to register into primary-aged camps and complete the registration forms attached and email exemption forms as instructed.  


    All licensed camps accept ACCB subsidy (2 spots each camp reserved for Supported Care/Inclusion) 


    If you are applying for the Affordable Child Care subsidy - the application link is here, and a copy of the Child Care Arrangement form is here. 


    Once the Child Care Arrangement form is printed and filled in please return it to Oaklands Community Centre for the Childcare Services Director to sign and date. 


    Until subsidy is in place full fees are due on the first of each school month; once subsidy is approved and applied to fees, a credit can be applied to future month fees.
